My name is Allison MacLean. On June 25, 2012 my husband and I, who was 6 months pregnant at the time, were in a vehicle accident on I-10, heading back home from a family vacation. Drew went to heaven. Ruby Lynn was born two and a half months later. I’m so thankful that I have a piece of Drew here on earth. Two and a half years later, Ruby and I welcomed Carter to our family through adoption. So now I am the mother of a 4-year old and a 2-year old. And then in 2017, I bought a minivan! Living and loving the mom life.
God has a plan for each of us. My heart longs to be in heaven with Drew, and I anticipate that day of reunion like nothing else. But until Jesus returns or I go meet Him, I will share the hope that I’ve been given from the God who keeps breaking out of the box that we mistakenly try to cram Him in. He is bigger!
You are lovely -my son Alex attended MHS while your dad was there – my family adored him. I knew he had daughters and saw you on the pix during his campaign for SI, but needless to say – we have never met.
When I heard of your accident, my heart was broken for you- I texted a mutual friend of ours (Jessica Meyer ) and checked on you and the baby while you were in the hospital in Tallahassee. I have prayed for you and your little one and family and thought of you so many times and I am so happy to see your post!
You are being used by God to show others your faith and strength in him to the unsaved world and folks in our community.
I am so proud of you ….and we are strangers, but God is amazing and I will watch for your posts to see how you and sweet little Ruby are changing hearts of others through your heart that was broken last June. — Vicki Gray
I have just discovered your blog and know it is God speaking to me. I lost my husband, Jack, May 13, 2012 and life has changed so much and I also – with great anticipation look forward to our reunion in heaven and know God has a plan and purpose for me till that time. We both worked in Tallahassee for years and I remember hearing “distantly” of your accident and the mercy of You and Ruby surviving! Thank you for sharing your heart and soul. Hugs Rosalee Roberts
